While the literature contains numerous articles about preparing instructors for the transition to online learning, very few focus on the specific challenges posed by synchronous virtual classrooms. Even fewer investigate how much training virtual instructors receive, the nature of that training the degree to which it’s successful Our Virtual Classroom Training Survey conducted in partnership with The Online Learning Consortium in early 2016 addressed these questions.
